Different Development Stages
Up to 1998, the IOI-Costa Rica, pursuant to the funds allocated by its sponsoring international programs, had focused its attention mainly in training all level decision-makers involved in integrated coastal-marine management and ocean and coast sustainability. From that year to date, pursuant to the new international financial support policies, the IOI-Costa Rica has become involved in developing productive projects in coastal communities, extending its work to the Caribbean islands (English-, Spanish-, and French-speaking), as well as to the Central, North and South American coastal mainland of the Greater Caribbean.
